Latest Update

Yesterday (26/05/09) I received notification that I had been awarded with my Licentiate with the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (LSWPP). This is my first recognised qualification since leaving the RAF in March and I am even more pleased because, the work I submitted was all taken prior to the training and learning I am currently undertaking. Next week I am off for five days traing in Spain with Martin Grahame-Dunn FMPA, FRSA, Hon.FMPA, QEP and more. Other trainers will include American Photographer Juli Cialone (Cialone Photography) and John Baikie from Scotland (Captiv8). This promises to be an inspirational learning experience where I will develop skills that will give me opportunity to further my career.

So finally, a big thank you to those who have supported me so far in my photographic career and now it's time to try and take my work to the next level.

Trash the Dress and more

Sunday was our regular meet up of professional photographers from the North West and North Wales. Our meet was in Blackpool and our challenge for the day was to come up with some images in a trash the dress style shoot on and around the North Pier. Although called 'trash the dress' the concept is to have alternative shots taken they there may not be time for on a hectic wedding day. For my shots I was lucky enough to have Paula and Mark to photograph. Paula and Mark were married in November and were keen to be our models for the day. So kitted out in their original wedding attire we set about catpuring some images. A selection of my images are shown below and I think I can be reasonably pleased with some of the images.

After the shoot with Paula and Mark, it was time for a bite to eat and then get some shots of Alex and Scott as the sun went down. The clouds that were over us for most of the afternoon cleared allowing us to get some striking shots. Here are a few results.

There was also a little time to capture some land and seascapes. Here are some that I like

Many thanks for taking the time to look at this blog and please feel free to comment on the work you see.

Inspirational Learning Experience

Tuesday meant getting up at 4.30am (yes there is a 4.30am as well as pm), to catch the train to London for an Inspirational Learning Experience with top award winning photographer Martin Grahame-Dunn and International award winning photographer Juli Cialone. The day involved being taken out of comfort zones and learn full creativity with the camera by taking photos in a way that was alien to most of us. We went out on location with our models Saranje and Kon and were given the opportunity to capture images using natural light. This was under the watchful eye and guidance of our mentors who were always on hand to give all the advice we could possibly need. The day ended up with Martin and Juli's hospitality and lessons on post production and thorough discussions on the best ways to push our business's forward for the future. By 11.30pm we were tired but buzzing from the day we had. Now I am looking forward to 5 days training in Spain with Martin & Juli and I can only imagine the positive effect it will have on my creativity in the future. Below are just a few of the images from the day. Please enjoy and feel free to comment if you wish.
